4.5/5 stars: I’m now kicking myself I haven’t read the other books in the series only because I enjoyed this one. It grabs your attention from the first page. Lost in the Land of Books

  2. leopoldb

4/5 stars: A mob-fuelled soap opera full of family intrigue. First of all, look at that cover – so hauntingly beautiful … Overall, if you’re a Sopranos fan, or even a fan of a good family saga, you’ll enjoy this book. (e)Book Nerd

  3. leopoldb

The story read well as a stand-alone and bought some distinct characters into being. The author wasn’t afraid to let his characters live and die by their bloodthirsty, ruthless decisions … If crime is a genre you enjoy this will be an easy read for you and I recommend it to all. DampPebbles

  4. leopoldb

Mama’s Gone felt like an old black and white movie with big guns and tension in a room where everyone is looking at the other, waiting for the first move. Chocolate ‘n’ Waffles

  5. leopoldb

I didn’t find any redeeming qualities in any of the characters … they are all scheming, conniving and violent in this incredibly dark, bloodthirsty gangster-ridden page turner. A marvellous piece of mob fiction. The Bookwormery

  6. leopoldb

This thrilling and detailed insight to mob culture which is gritty, noirish and yet threaded through with a wry humour. Rachel Read It

  7. leopoldb

A good, easy read. Parts were a little dark throughout. Between The Pages
